Micheila Brigginshaw – Soloist (Piano)

Our soloist for this concert will be pianist Micheila Brigginshaw

Micheila Brigginshaw has performed in many venues across the UK and Europe.  She has even given concerts while crossing the Atlantic as a guest performer on the QE2.  Her love of music was inspired at an early age by her grandfather and teacher, Johann Tryggvason.  She went on to study at Keele University and Cambridge University, following which she was offered a place on the post-graduate course in accompaniment with John Blakely at the Royal College of Music.  During this time she was fortunate in being able to study with Roger Vignoles and Paul Hamburger.  She was then awarded a studentship from the Leverhulme Trust for the répétiteur course at the Benjamin Britten International Opera School at the RCM.

After graduating, Micheila enjoyed a wide ranging musical career.  While working in the vocal department of the RCM playing for the classes, she also played for masterclasses with artistes including Sarah Walker, Gerald Finley and Kiri te Kanawa.  She also worked as répétiteur for many of their opera productions.  She performed in festivals and competitions, including Aldeburgh, Utrecht, Edinburgh Fringe and Dartington, where she accompanied viola masterclasses with Peter Sulski.  She was the accompanist for several choirs and opera groups, her favourite of which was Harrow Harmony, and held residences in the prestigious London hotels, the Connaught and Le Méridien Piccadilly.

Micheila lives in Berkhamsted with her husband and three children.  She teaches at Berkhamsted School and accompanies the Junior Choir. She continues to perform and has a special interest in working with singers.

Micheila is delighted to be here this evening as guest soloist for Harrow Harmony’s Fifteenth Anniversary concert.
