FIRST EVER AWAY DAY

As a culmination of our 15th Anniversary Year we will be embarking on our first ever away day.  We will be travelling to Frinton-On-Sea in Essex to give a FREE concert on Saturday 4th July 2015 at St Mary’s Parish Church.  It promises to be a day of sun, sea, sand, fish and chips and, of course, singing and a great end to our 15th Anniversary year.

For full details please see our Away Day 2015 concert page.

SING WE AND CHANT IT

AT OUR 2015 SPRING CONCERT IN MARCH HARROW HARMONY WILL BE GIVING A NEWLY-COMMISSIONED PIECE ITS WORLD PREMIÈRE

As part of its 15th Anniversary celebrations, Harrow Harmony has commissioned a new piece of music, which has been composed by Philip Lawson, former member of the Grammy Award-winning vocal group The King's Singers.  This follows on from Philip's arrangements of three north-east-England folk songs, which were also specially commissioned to commemorate the choir's 10th Anniversary in 2009.

The new piece is called Sing We And Chant It, with lyrics taken from various Elizabethan madrigals including Now Is The Month Of Maying and Sing We And Chant It, both with original melodies by Thomas Morley (1557 – 1602).

We are looking forward very much to performing this challenging piece, which will have its world première at our Spring Concert in March 2015.  This commission is dedicated to Heather Lee, a former choir member who sadly passed away in July 2009.
Our Spring Concert 2015 will take place at St John’s United Reformed Church in Northwood on Saturday 21st March 2015. Please see our Concerts page for details on the rest of the programme.

SPRING CONCERT WILL ALSO BE PREMIÈRE OF NEW UNIFORM FROM SIMON JERSEY

After over eight years the choir will be changing their uniform to a new style from Simon Jersery.  We thank Park Davidson for all their help over the years.
Photographs will be released in due course but for the time being the only place you will be able to see it will be attending our concerts.
